You know you’re on to a good thing with a legal blog when it opens with the statement: “I am Chuck Newton. I live in the woodlands. I am an attorney.”

Texas lawyer Chuck Newton runs a blog called Chuck Newton Rides The Third Wave (http://stayviolation.type pad.com/chucknewton/), which explores ways to make a living as a lawyer in the woodlands.

The third wave seems to be a euphemism for solo lawyers working from home. Or as Chuck describes it in his own special style: “The attorneys in my firm simply refuse to be confined by time, space and the restrictions that a typical law office employs. There are no palace guards keeping you from the attorneys in my firm.”

With his woodlands connections, Newton could be in line to pick up Bambi’s murder work. Anyone that can defy space and time could do that.

Brace yourselves for the boring bit. Wedlake Bell has launched a specialist microsite (http://sports. wedlakebell.com) to market its sports group, which advises on matters including stadium development, sponsorship, employment, taxation and broadcasting rights.

Right, boring bit over. Luckily the sports bods at Wedlake Bell have spiced up the site with some racy photos of themselves in sports poses. Gasp as David Earl shows you his golf ball. Swoon as Richard Islam parries a football.

But the best one is commercial property lawyer Sarah Taylor, who at first looks like she’s caught a jockey in a headlock, but on closer inspection she’s just carrying a riding helmet.
