A LEGAL aid solicitor, who devised his case management software to cater specifically for franchised firms, has now gone into business selling it.

Cleveland solicitor Keith Wilson, of Redcar firm Wilson MacDonald, joined forces with computer consultants Chris Proud and John Benson to devise Fransys, a system designed to make life easier for the legal aid franchising lawyer.

Last June, the group formed their own company, Lexology, to sell the system and undertake consultancy work.

The company now claims to be "halfway" towards selling its first software package, which is priced at £1,000, although this amount may vary depending on the package.

"It was initially designed expressly for our own use, but we decided that other people should benefit from it as well," said Wilson.

"My firm was one of the first to obtain a franchise, so I know about the amount of administrative work required."
