Firms in U-turn over Cayman evacuations

Plans to evacuate scores of lawyers and staff from the Cayman Islands were scrapped as law firms restarted operations last week in the wake of Hurricane Ivan.
Firms were planning to restart their Cayman operations in London, the US and neighbouring unaffected Caribbean islands. But with power and water returned to Cayman ahead of schedule, evacuated lawyers are in the process of being flown back to the island.
