Administrators of the estate of coach driver Leslie Golds, who was one of nine killed when his coach crashed on the M2 near Faversham, Kent, on 10 November 1993, are taking Hounslow-based coach company Brelaton to the High Court. The writ, issued by David and Trevor Golds, claims Golds died as a result of negligence on the part of Brelaton, formerly Travellers Coach Co. In another writ the estate of Golds is being sued by British Airways (BA) for damages in respect of the crash which they blame on Golds. That writ claims Golds was speeding, then fell asleep and hit a van travelling in the same direction before hitting a crash barrier and toppling over it and down an embankment. BA is suing in a bid to recoup compensation already paid and that may have to be paid to the families of US holiday makers killed in the accident. In addition to suing Golds' estate, BA is also suing Brelaton, and Windsor Inc, of St Louis, Missouri.
