Axxia is targeting in-house lawyers with its Arista case management application in a bid to expand its user-base.
In the past, the company has concentrated on supplying law firms, but it is hoping to expand its market to include local government as well as corporate legal departments.
Managing director Stuart Holden said the demand for in-house case management was coming from the companies themselves. He claimed in-house legal departments tended to place less emphasis on productivity than law firms and usually had no time-recording facilities. This made it difficult for in-house lawyers to justify their costs or prove that they were as cost-effective as external law firms.
Arista, said Holden, could change this. "Arista is proven to be the best system for law firms and our objective is to prove it is the best for corporates," he said.
