Hogan launches Moscow tax practice

Hogan & Hartson has launched a Russian tax practice in Moscow with the hire of partner Ilya Rybalkin from German firm Nörr Stiefenhofer Lutz.

Rybalkin focuses on international and domestic tax issues, particularly for M&A, restructuring, private equity and the increasing Russian market of real estate fund structuring. His clients come from the oil & gas, automotive, real estate and food sectors.

Hogan Moscow managing partner Peter Pettibone said Rybalkin had previously advised on tax matters for Hogan clients while at the Moscow office of Munich-based Nörr.

Firm chairman Warren Gorrell said in a statement: “By extending our tax capabilities to Moscow, Hogan & Hartson now is one of the few global law firms to offer integrated international legal and tax advice in multi-jurisdictional transactions.”
