UK gaming and amusement machine operator Danoptra Holdings has snared Halliwells head of gambling law Nick Hawkins to take the newly created role of director of legal services.

Danoptra, the parent company of Gamestec Leisure and Bell-Fruit Group, created the role to ensure that the group meets all statutory requirements and is compliant with gambling legislation.

“Legislative change, such as the recent implementation of the Gambling Act, represents both challenge and opportunity for any company within the gaming industry,” said Danoptra chief executive Derek Lloyd.

“The creation of this new role and Nick’s extensive skills and experience, will allow us to meet our legal obligations and help us identify commercial opportunities that arise as the result of change.”

The role will see Hawkins take responsibility for all legal and regulatory matters related to Danoptra and represent the group on relevant committees and boards.
