Commercial set 3 Verulam Buildings has snared the head of arbitration from Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS).

DWS senior lawyer Sophie Nappert, who is a dual-qualified lawyer in England and Canada, will leave DWS after seven years at the firm. She headed the DWS arbitration group since 2003.

Chambers head Christopher Symons QC said: “Sophie has excellent standing within the arbitration community and her international background and outlook are an ideal fit with our existing arbitrators.

“She’ll fit in well with the practice of members of chambers in international arbitration, both as arbitrators and counsel.”

Nappert joins on 3 December and will build up her international arbitration practice. Her practice is focused on energy, infrastructure and commercial disputes, as well as investment treaty matters and disputes involving state parties.

Nappert added that the move allows her to pursue a career with other arbitrators, which will bring her many benefits.
