Philadelphia-headquartered Morgan Lewis & Bockius is launching an ambitious growth plan for its 32-lawyer London office.
London managing partner Bob Goldspink said he hoped to increase office headcount by 40 per cent, to 45 lawyers, by the end of 2007.
“We’ve grown from 25 to 32 last year,” said Goldspink. “So the growth will be more than last year, but consistent.”
So far in 2007 the office has already hired outsourcing partner Rory Graham and associate Simon White from Brown Rudnick. Two associates are also slated to join in April.
The firm has signed a lease for new London premises in Condor House near St Paul’s, to which it will relocate in July.
The London office’s growth follows increases in both turnover and average profit per equity partner (PEP) in 2006.
Turnover increased by 10 per cent in London to $22.3m (£12.12m), while firmwide PEP jumped by 24 per cent to $1.24m (£674,000).
