Deloitte & Touche Juridique et Fiscal is joining forces with French firm Poitrinal & Associés/Galexia to boost its M&A activities.
The move also is expected to strengthen the French legal arm of Deloitte & Touche's capabilities in a number of related areas, among them LBOs (leverage buy-outs), risk capital, IPOs (initial public offerings), stock exchange law and regulation.
The additional 23 lawyers will bring the firm's M&A team to more than 40 with an estimated turnover of Ff50m to Ff60m. (£4.8m to 5.8m).
Their various skills include acquisitions and disposals experience in France and abroad, raising finance for internet start-ups and advising M&A investors on market and stock exchange listings.
Poitrinal & Associés was founded in 1989 as a legal firm specialising in highly leveraged transactions.
Deloitte & Touche Juridique is part of the global professional services firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, which has a total of 250 lawyers. Its client base is a mixture of both French and international companies, partnerships and public organisations.
