Dechert has hired a former senior Bear Stearns in-house lawyer to bulk up its corporate and securities group.
Former in-house lawyer and managing director at Bear Ken Masotti has joined Dechert’s New York office as counsel in the corporate and securities group.
Dechert head of corporate finance Henry Nassau said: “[Ken’s] experience advising on a broad range of capital markets transactions and products makes him a valuable addition to our corporate finance team.”
At Bear, Masotti was responsible for equity capital markets. As a member of the bank’s in-house legal team he also provided a range of support for investment banking deals.
Masotti said: “I believe my experience is very synergistic with Dechert’s corporate finance practice and believe that the firm offers a terrific platform for growth.”
Prior to joining Bear, Masotti was an associate at Shearman & Sterling.
