WilmerHale has undergone a major restructuring in Europe, which has included the closure of its Munich and Oxford offices. While we can safely say that those offices were always fringe operations, London is not.
WilmerHale has sworn to maintain a corporate presence in the capital, but that has been hit badly by this second raid, which removes tax partner Christopher Prout, two senior associates, one of whom joins Heller as a partner, in addition to more junior corporate associates.
It is arbitration that remains the firm’s strength – the area has grown consistently over the last three years, whereas the transactional teams have witnessed a spate of defections.
