Maclay Murray & Spens is gearing up for an anticipated surge in employment work by merging with niche Edinburgh practice Mackay Simon.
Maclay Murray has announced it is to merge with the seven-partner employment practice within three months.
While the merged firm will be called Maclay Murray & Spens, Mackay Simon will lend its name to the employment practice, which boasts 10 partners.
Malcolm Mackay, founder of Mackay Simon, says that his team of seven employment partners and the three corporate employment partners will now be able to provide a full service. He says: "A lot of corporate work is overlapp
ing with employment and this will enable us to provide a one-stop service."
Clients of Mackay Simon in London include government services provider Serco, United Distiller and Norwich Union.
The new 57-partner firm will be the largest in Scotland.
