Steven Vincent, Clifford Chance's litigation support manager, has left the firm to become more involved with the Internet.

He has joined Internet solution provider Go Interactive Solutions as a director. The company runs courses, develops Web pages and carries out other Net-related work.

Vincent, who helped build Clifford Chance's home page, left the firm earlier this summer. He said: "It was an exciting time to work at Clifford Chance, since we went from virtually no lawyers using PCs to whole teams of lawyers, networked together, conducting litigation."

A spokesman for Clifford Chance said the firm wished Vincent well. He added that Simon James would be taking over litigation support in addition to his role as partner in charge of support services.

Vincent is also chair of the newly-formed Internet Interest Group for lawyers which aims to promote the use of the Net by law firms. He said: "As chairman of the Internet interest group I am keen to help introduce the language of the Internet to the legal sector and encourage firms to take a proactive approach to developing business using the Internet and intranet tools."

The group's next meeting, entitled 'Why lawyers use the Internet', will be on 2 September. Details are available from the Society for Computers and Law at http://www.scl.org or on 0117 923 7393.
