David Price Solicitors & Advocates has come out fighting after Newcastle United sacked its client, assistant manager Kevin Bond, over the allegations made in the BBC’s Panorama documentary.

The media firm is attempting to win a court order to force the BBC to release full transcripts of the secret recordings of Kevin Bond.

In the programme, Bond was filmed saying he would consider receiving payments from an agent.

Bond said in a statement: “I intend to pursue all legal avenues to vindicate my reputation and restore my career and livelihood.”

“NUFC have made their decision solely on the basis of a few sentences carefully selected and edited by Panorama.”

Newcastle United’s move will likely increase the value of Bond’s damages claim against the BBC when he sues for libel.
