Halliwells’ involvement in Sport England’s scheme to get North West companies fitter backfired when its participation was announced back in April and it was accused of profiting from funds that should have gone to poor, needy organisations.

Now news comes that some of the firm’s employees were using the scheme in an inappropriate manner, after two junior staff members were caught ‘canoodling’ in the local swimming pool.

The employees got off reasonably lightly, however, with an acute attack of embarrassment being their main punishment.
