Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has announced its latest round of partner promotions, making up six lawyers into the firm’s equity.
At the same time the firm is moving to limited liability status, effective from 1 January 2005.
Five of the new partners hail from the firm’s New York base. Of those, two are tax experts, one specialises in securities and the remaining two practice in corporate.
However, just one is from outside New York. Rome-based corporate expert Roberto Bonsignore was the only non-US lawyer to be made up.
At the same time, the firm has appointed nine lawyers to the of counsel position, up from six last year. Among them are lawyers from the firm’s French, German and Italian practices.
