Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has continued to beef up its Asian operations through the transfer of partner Stuart Grider from London.
Grider made partner in the London office in March this year when Freshfields announced the promotion of 22 partners and will now move to Hong Kong. The move is the latest in a series of UK-Asian transfers. Fellow corporate partners James Woods and Ed Cole were relocated to the Tokyo office last May.
The moves comes on the back of Freshfields’ rationalisation of its Asian practices, which it has been undertaking since last year.
Last May saw the firm close its Singapore operations and relocate its two remaining partners to its Hong Kong outfit.
Freshfields had also promoted two partners in Shanghai, two in Hong Kong and one in Tokyo.
