Fox Williams has raided Canadian firm McCarthy Tétrault for a three-lawyer team to create a dedicated AIM group within its corporate practice.
Corporate finance partner Richie Clark leaves McCarthy after six years to join Fox Williams, bringing with him corporate associates James Channo and Claire Price.
Clark alone has guided clients on more than 40 transactions on AIM, and with his team, according to Fox Williams, has been involved in the majority of dual IPOs on AIM and the Toronto Stock Exchange.
The team will bring several clients to Fox Williams, including DHX Media and Zeehan Zinc.
Dave Lewis, the chief executive officer at Renewable Power & Light, said his business will also move with Clark.
“We’ve found Richie and his team responsive and commercially astute. We look forward to building up this relationship following their move to Fox Williams,” said Lewis.
Clark, whose team brings the firm’s number of corporate lawyers to 20, said: “Fox Williams’ expanding corporate group provides an excellent platform to continue our existing AIM-focused practice.”
Fox Williams senior partner Tina Williams said: “Richie joining us fits in perfectly with the firm’s strategy to grow our corporate department.
“His expertise will enhance our client offering both in the UK and internationally.”
