Klegal, the KPMG-associated law firm, is really getting to grips with the provision of legal services, in particular the concept of supply and demand. A press release was sent out last week announcing that the firm had recruited to its employment department Guy Abbiss from the London office of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue. All well and good so far, but why was the firm recruiting? Stephen Levinson, joint head of the employment department, has the answer. He is quoted in the release as saying: “The group was looking to recruit additional senior employment lawyers to cope with the decreasing demand, both in the UK and overseas, for the group's services.” Ahhh, the perverse logic of accountants. Don't you just love it?
