US firm Katten Muchin Rosenman Cornish has continued its push into the UK by bolstering its London office with the appointment of the Bank of America’s former assistant general counsel.
Jennifer Nye, a US financial services lawyer specialising in alternative investments and compliance at Bank of America in New York, joins as a partner.
The appointment follows Katten’s tie-up last month with niche UK hedge funds practice MW Cornish Solicitors to launch its first international office in London, known as Katten Muchin Rosenman Cornish.
The 600-lawyer, Chicago-based financial services firm previously had a non-exclusive referral agreement with MW Cornish.
The firm’s strategy for the London office is to assist both UK clients active in the US and US clients active in Europe which are subject to US rules and regulations.
