Shipping partner Andrew Hughes has left Richards Butler after 25 years to join specialist shipping firm More Fisher Brown today (25 April).

More Fisher has raided several partners from Richards Butler’s shipping department over the years, including current managing partner Andrew Wright, Adrian Moylan, Mike Mitchell and Edward Gray.

Hughes commented: “When I first moved to Richards Butler’s Hong Kong office in 1986, there were about 10 people. When I left the Far East after 13 years in 1999, there were about 250.

“More Fisher Brown was one of the firms I considered moving to, partly on account of its size. I worked closely with Edward Gray in Hong Kong and there’s good chemistry among the team.”

Hughes joined Richards Butler in 1980, moved to the Hong Kong office in 1986, made partner in 1990 and returned to London in 1999.

Richards Butler managing partner Roger Parker said: “Andy’s given fine service to Richards Butler in Asia and Europe over the years. We wish him well with the next phase in his career.”
