Clifford Chance London litigation and dispute resolution head Jeremy Sandelson has been confirmed as the firm’s new London managing partner following an uncontested vote.
His appointment will take affect from 1 January 2006, following the announcement of the result of a partnership vote this afternoon (26 October).
The vote, however, was a formality as Sandelson was the only candidate named on the voting email, which was first sent out two weeks ago (October 12).
Other nominated candidates, such as finance partners David Bickerton and Mark Stewart, were understood to have been reluctant to stand.
Sandelson will now have a seat on the management committee and will also run the strategically important office of Dubai.
He replaces Peter Charlton, who has recently been voted global head of the firm’s corporate practice.
