Eversheds loses NHS job to Ward Hadaway

The Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Trust has chosen Newcastle firm Ward Hadaway over long-standing sole legal adviser Eversheds.

Ward Hadaway was chosen by tender by the County Durham procurement consortium to provide all external legal services to the trust for the next three years.

Ward Hadaway’s head of public sector Melanie Pears said it was a fantastic win for the firm and the healthcare team.

The firm previously advised the trust on a £78m PFI scheme to replace St Luke’s Hospital in Middlesbrough and the healthcare team has carved out instructions for more than 50 NHS trusts across the country.

Ward Hadaway was also recently chosen by the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust to provide external legal advice on several areas, including a proposed £400m hospital.
