Scottish firm Brodies has beefed up its tax capabilities with the hire of chartered accountant Isobel d’Inverno as director of corporate tax.
Although not a lawyer, d’Inverno – who joins the firm from MacRoberts in June – is well known in the Scottish legal community and serves as convenor of the Law Society of Scotland’s tax law committee.
Brodies tax partner Alan Barr said: “We’ve step-changed the scale of the department with Isobel joining us and will have the ability to handle higher-quality tax work. Her accounting background is important for corporate tax. The role we play as lawyers in corporate transactions involves a lot of liaison with clients’ accounts and those on the other side of the transaction.”
D’Inverno ;previously worked at Brodies, leaving in 1997 to join MacRoberts.
