McDermott Will & Emery has taken over West Coast-based Campbell & Flores, adding 10 lawyers specialising in biotechnology intellectual property (IP).

As revealed on www. thelawyer.com/lawyernews (17 March), Dr Cathryn Campbell and Mauricio Flores, who co-founded Campbell & Flores in 1992, are joining McDermott’s San Diego and Orange County offices. Campbell will lead the firm’s life sciences IP practice group. Flores and David Beckwith will also join the firm as partners, bringing along seven lawyers.

Campbell & Flores was formed primarily from ex-Pretty Schroeder Brueggemann & Clark and Pillsbury Madison & Sutro lawyers. Campbell was the former head of Pretty Schroeder’s San Diego office, while Flores moved across from Pillsbury.
