Eversheds has appointed its first managing partner with sole responsibility for Paris. Head of operations Colin Brown will take on the new role which previously came under the remit of London managing partner Michael Brown.
The decision to appoint a separate managing partner for Paris follows the rapid expansion of the office. Eversheds doubled its space in the city with an office move late last year and took on property and finance lawyer Kristine Karsten and her team from SG Archibald. Further lateral hires are planned during the course of 2003.
Michael Brown remains managing partner of London and a member of the firm’s executive. Colin Brown, a former managing partner for the East of England, will spend the majority of his time in Paris but will also retain a London base.
Commenting on his appointment he said: “Given the investment we are making and in particular the enthusiasm of our partners and staff in Paris I am sure it will become, quite soon, one of our most dynamic offices.''
