Irwin Mitchell is merging with niche firm Alexander Harris in a move creating a 94 partner personal injury powerhouse.
The merger will take effect from 1 May and creates a 94-partner firm with offices spread across the UK. It will operate under the Irwin Mitchell name.
Alexander Harris brings 12 partners from its current locations in Altrincham, Cheshire, Solihull in the Midlands, and London.
The two firms have overlapping practice areas, both with strong reputations in the personal injury, clinical negligence and product liability fields.
Last year Irwin Mitchell’s turnover reached £102m, and it is estimated that Alexander Harris will add £6m to next year’s fee income.
The combined firm will have 840 fee-earners and a total of 1860 staff.
