What’s the best thing about your job?

The clients.

Who’s your hero and why?

Captain Virgil Hilts, the character from the 1963 film The Great Escape, because he never gave up.

What’s the toughest thing about your job?

Dealing with an under-resourced civil justice system.

What’s your biggest work/career mistake and what did you learn from it?

The mistake was not becoming a lawyer earlier. The lesson learnt is, all barriers are surmountable.

What car do you drive?

Whichever car the children want me to drive.

What book are you currently reading?
Les Misérables, by Victor Hugo.

What’s the most exciting case you’ve worked on and why?

Being a brain injury specialist lawyer, no case is exciting, but all are rewarding, as I am able to play a part in enabling claimants and their families rebuild their lives.

If you were stranded on a desert island what two luxury items would you take?
A piano and Jane Seymour.

What’s the worst partner conference location you’ve attended and why?

Disneyland Paris, because the technology failed.

Who would you least like to be stuck in a lift with and why?
President Putin because I don’t speak Russian.

I act; I sing; I dance.

What’s the longest you’ve worked without sleep?

Not too long, thankfully – I need my sleep to be as effective as I can be for my clients.

If a movie was being made about your life, which actor would play you and why?
Boris Karloff – because we look so alike.
