Bristol-based TLT Solicitors has bolstered its growing London office by hiring Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) insolvency solicitor James Forsyth as a partner.
Forsyth joins TLT after five years in DWS’s insolvency litigation team where he was senior solicitor. He is TLT’s first insolvency partner in the capital.
TLT’s London office is focused on banking and finance, and was launched in April 2005 via a merger with £3m banking boutique Lawrence Jones.
Forsyth is the third senior hire for the City banking team in six months, following that of CMS Cameron McKenna partner Charles Spragge in February and McClure Naismith associate Richard McBride, who joined TLT as an associate, in May.
Of the firm’s 55 partners, 13 are now based in the capital.
Managing partner David Pester said: “There are two reasons we’re in London: to follow our clients and also to help us to develop niche specialisms that it might be harder to do with only an office in Bristol.
“What we’ve sought to do is recruit into areas that overlay what we’re already doing. And 30 per cent of our business comes from banking.
TLT work for banks including Bank of Ireland, Barclays and Lloyds TSB. Lawrence Jones added clients such as Allied Irish, Banco Espirito Santo and Caterpillar Financial Services.
