Field Fisher Waterhouse (FFW) has boosted its employment practice with the hire of partner Peter Holt from the London office of LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae. Qualified barrister Holt specialises in employment issues arising from PFI and public-private partnership matters.

Margaret Davis, head of FFW’s employment group, said: “There are few firms that do their own advocacy in the Employment Tribunal. A qualified barrister is clearly going to help us develop that area.

“We’re looking at it more closely as counsel becomes more expensive.”

FFW’s employment group has tripled in size in the past five years, growing from two partners and four assistants to five partners and 13 assistants.

Davis said that she expected the practice to grow by one partner and two fee-earners in the next couple of years.

During the summer, FFW hired construction partner Chris Fellowes from Manches and IP partner Ian Craig from US firm Dorsey & Whitney.
