Media firm Harbottle & Lewis is making hay as the West End musical scene shines. Partner Neil Adleman’s theatre group was picked to lead on licence negotiations for Dirty Dancing, appearing across the table from big boys Sony BMG and film studio LionsGate.

Adleman put the win down to a growing portfolio of West End hits, such as Wicked, Sinatraand We Will Rock You.

The string of departures from the firm’s music practice in recent years means that a few late nights helping out the theatre team will not be offered grudgingly. The litigation team has also mucked in. Luckily Dirty Dancing has become the mostpopular West End musical ever, bringing in £11m in ticket sales before the opening night.

All seats are booked up until late summer 2007, meaning Adleman will likely retire after making millions selling his complimentary tickets on eBay to competing hen night organisers.
