Criminal law firm Reynolds Dawson is suing Mount Charlotte Investments for damages for building work noise and dust nuisance. Its writ claims that Mount Charlotte started substantial refurbishment works on the upper floors of 34 John Adam Street, Charing Cross, London. Reynolds Dawson has offices on the ground floor and claims it has wrongfully had to suffer excessive noise and vibration emanating into its offices.

Beauty Without Cruelty is suing employee Cyril Clifford for damages for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. The Hove-based comp-any's writ seeks an account of all sums spent by Clifford during the course of his employment and repayment of all sums allegedly misappropriated by him.

High Court action has been launched over a security guard said to have been recommended as being "suitable and trustworthy" and "an excellent choice" but who is now accused of stealing thousands of pounds worth of antiques. The guard began work for Canolot Production Studios on 3 April this year, but on 9 April is said to have made off with petty cash, a mobile phone, a camera and antiques. Now Canolot, of London NW8, is suing Abbatt Property Services, of London W1, in respect of its losses.

Hampshire man Anthony Travers is heading for a High Court libel showdown with a neighbour over letters sent to a planning authority. Travers has issued a High Court writ claiming damages from his neighbour JT Carey. His writ alleges he was libelled in a letter sent by Carey in July this year to the director of planning for East Hampshire District Council among others.
