Tods Murray executive partner David Dunsire (pictured) has publicly defended his firm in a letter to a Sunday newspaper in an unprecedented attempt to scotch damaging rumours about the legal industry, and his firm in particular.
Dunsire said he wrote the letter after receiving countless enquiries from staff and clients about rumours that the firm was in financial difficulty and on the verge of going into administration.
Dunsire wrote: “We’ve heard that we’re on our bank’s ‘at risk’ register, that partners have refused to inject more cash into the firm and that we are, indeed, about to go into administration. All of this is totally untrue.”
Dunsire told The Lawyer that although 17 staff have been laid off and partners injected capital in January, the firm is financially secure.
GOSSIP AND RUMOUR
LOL goodbye Kitty has a bit of a bee in their bonnet BUUUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. Clearly jealous that some have better academics than you. I went to Queen’s University in Belfast, a uni that you need three A’s to get into, I got a 2.1, I then did an LLM in human rights law, worked as a Paralegal and I am now a trainee in a good firm. I am happy with my lot in life. Obviously my academics and legal experience don’t impress you, but who the heck cares what you think? I bagged myself a training contract, therefore my academics, experience and commitment impressed the people that matter.
Interesting
Guys, what are you all doing there in London office? Just letting the show go on?

Good for you kitty but you’re still not getting the point. Did you do an LLM because you thought it would do your cv good? If so, you are misguided. I’m glad you have a training contract (really I am) but you could’ve had a job a year earlier if you’d really wanted. Incidentally, there’s no jealousy – you’re right that some people will have “better academics” than me, but only a few – but I did a masters just because I didn’t want a job yet and I’m happy to admit it. People just need to get real about the whole LLM/GDL/QLD thing – the best will get the jobs regardless of the route they take. And if you’re not up to scratch you won’t last in the real world, no matter how many letters you have after your name. Yours, inspirationally….
