As TheLawyer.com revea-led (19 March), the A&O US senior partner is defecting to the litigation firm in July. Cunningham joins as a partner in New York in the firm’s complex structured products and bankruptcy and restructuring groups.

Quinn Emanuel New York head Peter Calamari said: “We’ve experienced an upturn in litigation relating to the products that Dan works with. This is the kind of expertise so many clients are looking for right now.”

Calamari added that Cunningham’s experience in M&A will be an asset in the bankruptcy and restructuring groups.

Cunningham is well known for securing the International Swaps and Derivatives Association as a core client for A&O. He has been involved in developing the ISDA documentation for derivatives transactions.

Cunningham joined A&O from Cravath Swaine & Moore in 2001 on an equity share that exceeded the top of A&O’s lockstep.
