Burges Salmon is in talks with the administrators of property developer Castlemore to ensure the company finishes building the firm’s new offices.

Castlemore collapsed in February, with Burges Salmon due to move into its new base in Bristol’s Temple Quay in May 2010.

In an internal email to staff, managing partner Guy Stobart said that work on the building was continuing, despite reports that work had stopped on the development next door.

He said: “The completion of One Glass Wharf, the building where we’ve agreed to lease 80 per cent of the floorspace, is understood to be going ahead at present.”

Administrator PricewaterhouseCoopers is understood to be searching for a buyer on behalf of Castlemore’s lender Lloyds TSB.

Burges Salmon currently occupies three buildings in Bristol and has the option to extend its existing leases if the move is postponed.
