The British Airport Authority (BAA) has recruited Carol Hui as general counsel from construction group Amey.

Both companies are part of the Ferrovial Group. Amey has appointed senior counsel Wayne Robertson to replace Hui as the company’s top lawyer.

Former Slaughter and May associate Hui spent eight-and-a-half years at Amey before taking the BAA job.

BAA is attempting to sell Gatwick Airport for around £2bn. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner Laurie McFadden is leading the team providing corporate advice to BAA, which has been ordered by the Competition Commission to sell both Gatwick Airport and Stansted Airport, as well as either Edinburgh Airport or Glasgow Airport.

Hui’s predecessor at BAA Robert Herga is understood to still be with BAA and is handing over to Hui.

On that deal, Herbert Smith advised BAA, while Freshfields acted for Ferrovial.
