FRENCH public law boutique Huglo Lepage has split in two, with four partners leaving to set up a new firm called Genesis Avocats.
Huglo Lepage is left with four partners and 24 associates. The split came about after a disagreement over strategic direction. Name partners and Huglo Lepage founders Corinne Lepage and Christian Huglo wanted to focus on town planning and urbanisation law, along with two other partners.
Genesis founders Marie-Yvonne Benjamin, Isabelle Cassin, Rémi Pierre Drai and Philippe Feitussi decided to leave to concentrate on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility matters. The two firm s will share roughly equal turnovers. Huglo Lepage posted a revenue increase of 6 per cent in 2006 to hit €10m (£6.76m).
