Cottrills joins motorcycle gang

Cottrill Stone Lawless & Co has joined a national network of 14 practices across the country servicing the British Motorcyclists Federation's (BMF) new Biker Legal Line.

The Manchester firm, designated 'biker friendly' thanks to the profile of motorcycling partner Philip Shuker, will handle personal injury claims on behalf of the service.
BMF chief executive Simon Wilkinson described the service as a partnership between the BMF and its 14 corporate member firms. He added one proviso for the firms: that any solicitor dealing with a case be a motorcycle enthusiast.
Shuker said: “Car-driving solicitors can be unsympathetic to riders who have accidents because they don't understand the factors involved. It's important that bikers deal with someone who will understand their point of view.”
During the past six months, Shuker has recovered more than £1m in compensation for motorcyclist clients. In addition to his role at Cottrills, Shuker is legal director of the Bikers' Advice Bureau.
