VIRGINIA-based McGuireWoods has bolstered its information technology capability with the bolt-on of 15-lawyer Chicago IT boutique Gordon & Glickson.
Gordon & Glickson managing partner Mark Gordon will head McGuireWoods’ technology and business practice, which will come under the intellectual property group.
The bolt-on of Gordon & Glickson will coincide with the launch of a 50-lawyer technology and business practice in McGuireWoods’ Chicago office, with the bolt-on becoming live on February 1, 2006.
McGuireWoods chairman Robert Burrus said: “We believe this merger will derive strong synergies and provide multiple opportunities for our joint clients.”
McGuireWoods ranked 75th in The Lawyer’s Global 100 for 2005 with a 2004 turnover of $344m (£192.6m) and profit margin of 33 per cent.
