Real estate investment fund Braemar Group has hired Orla Ball as its new in-house counsel.

Ball joins Braemar from Eversheds‘ Manchester office, where she was an associate in the corporate team for 12 years.

She is tasked with bringing in-house much of the legal work that the Braemar Group previously contracted out to external law firms and with developing the group’s fund management and compliance functions.

Ball said: “This is something I’ve always wanted to do.”

Marc Duschenes, chief executive of Braemar Group, said: “Having Orla on board will enable us to conduct much of our legal work in-house to the mutual benefit of our clients and shareholders and will provide an expert link with our existing legal advisors.”
