Bristol’s Clarke Willmott has secured its first Birmingham office through the takeover of personal injury firm Amery Parkes.
The four-partner, 30-lawyer firm, which last year turned over an estimated £6m, joined Clarke Willmott on 1 August and will trade under the Clarke Willmott banner.
Clarke Willmott’s managing partner David Sedgwick said the firm planned to expand the Birmingham practice to include a house building practice as well as sport and private client work.
The move gives Clarke Willmott a presence in the centre of the UK’s house building industry. Clarke Willmott’s house building clients already include David Wilson Homes and Persimmon Homes.
Clarke Willmott now has four offices, in Bristol, Southampton, Birmingham and Taunton, where the volume property and debt recovery arms are located.
“Culturally, being in Birmingham and Southampton tells the market we are not simply a West Country firm,” said Sedgwick.
