Eversheds poaches Beachcrofts partner

Beachcroft Wansbroughs has lost its head of employment in Bristol to Eversheds.

Tony Brown has joined Eversheds' Bristol office as a partner in its expanding employment team.

Brown is believed to be the first senior departure from the Wansbroughs Willey Hargrave side of the merger that formed Beachcroft Wansbroughs at the end of last year.

Eversheds' Bristol office has made eight senior lateral hires in the last nine months. The director and joint head of the capital markets division at Neill Clarke Group, Jane Waddell, joined last November.

The leading construction litigator John Bolton was poached from Davies Arnold Cooper in February. And in April a team of five joined the banking and finance litigation team from Adams & Remers.

Peter Morris, the head of the banking and commercial team in Bristol, has been appointed to the newly-created role of senior partner to Eversheds' Bristol office. Morris has been given the position so that the Bristol office gets its own representation, distinct from the Cardiff office.

“We aim to be one of the leading, full-service commercial firms in Bristol and, over the past 12 months have made a number of high-profile appointments which have strengthened our team and broadened the areas in which we practice.

“Such appointments will help develop our Bristol practice not only within the south west, but across the UK and into Europe,” says Morris.
