Sarah Harman has joined Hodge Jones & Allen as a partner in the firm’s clinical negligence team.

Harman joins from her own firm Harman & Harman, which she founded in 1982. She has worked on many high-profile cases, including the Kent and Canterbury cervical smear claims, various claims against abusive GPs, and was listed in The Lawyer’s Hot 100 in 2008 after successfully representing families of elderly patients who died from C Diff in Maidstone and Eastbourne hospitals.



Browne Jacobson has appointed Michael Howard as a partner in its professional indemnity team in London. He was a partner at Kennedys.

Baker & McKenzie has hired international arbitration and litigation partner Steve Abraham to its London and global dispute resolution practice. He joins from Norton Rose, where he was a partner.

CMS Cameron McKenna has appointed derivatives expert Nigel Dickinson as a partner from Allen & Overy, where he was a senior associate, to strengthen its financial services and products team.

Kirkland & Ellis has brought in Satnam Tumani to its London office as a partner in the litigation and dispute resolution practice group. He is the former head of the Serious Fraud Office’s bribery and corruption and international assistance departments.

Kemp Little has promoted Kathryn Dooks to employment partner.

Former Kervin & Barnes senior executive unit head Jahad Rahman has launched his own Canary Wharf-based employment law boutique, Rahman Lowe Solicitors.

Fladgatehas hired private capital partner Helena Luckhurst from Speechly Bircham, where she was a partner, specialising in tax and estate planning and structuring for families, individuals and business owners.


Banking and finance partner Dean Gormley has joined Irwin Mitchell’s corporate team from Nabarro, where he was partner.

Chester firm Walker Smith Way has unveiled partner and head of personal injury Neil Turnbull as its new managing partner, replacing Gareth Humphreys.

Dickinson Dees has added two new partners, John Connor and Andy Stirk, to its Leeds-based team from DLA Piper. Connor was a banking partner and Stirk an restructuring and insolvency associate.

Cripps Harries Hall has appointed four newly qualified solicitors: James Blyth, Erin Gilman, Sarah Crowell and Hannah Harris.

Barlow Robbins has appointed solicitor Mark Wheeler to join its corporate and commercial team based in Guildford. He was formerly a solicitor at asb Law.

Birmingham-based Anthony Collins Solicitors has hired former Wragge & Co associate Natalie Singh as its new head of funding. It has also brought in Jenny Francis from Shakespeares as a senior associate in its housing litigation team.

Browne Jacobson’s property litigation team in Birmingham has recruited real estate litigation partner Pamela Shepherd and property litigation solicitor Harriet Critchely, both from Harvey Ingram Shakespeares. Shepherd was a partner and head of property litigation.

Corporate finance lawyer Andrew Glaze has joined the Birmingham headquarters of SGH Martineau as a partner. He was previously a director in the public companies team at Wragge & Co.


Former Dewey & LeBoeuf local partner in Brussels Pieter Bekker has joined Steptoe & Johnson’s international arbitration group as a partner, to be based in Brussels.


White & Case has added to its M&A and capital markets teams with the addition of partners Eric Hwang and Christopher Rose to its Silicon Valley office. Hwang was director of corporate development at Oracle Corp and Rose was senior vice-president of corporate development at CODA.

Arnold & Porter has brought in former Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America general counsel Diane Bieri as a partner in Washington, DC.

Bingham McCutchen has hired John Schmitz as a partner and principal in its Bingham Consulting global regulatory and transactional practice in Washington, DC. He was previously managing partner of Schmitz Global Partners.
