Spanish independent Mullerat is to dissolve after a crippling succession of partner losses.
Spanish media reports this morning (23 May) indicate that the firm will close its doors at the end of the month, following the loss of name partner Ramón Mullerat to KPMG in Barcelona.
Baker & McKenzie and Cuatrecasas have also picked up Mullerat lawyers in Barcelona.
In Madrid, the firm lost senior partner Alberto Echarri to Gómez-Acebo & Pombo’s along with a team of lawyers, as first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (April 22).
Mullerat’s other Spanish offices in San Sebastián and Palma de Mallorca are also set to close, while Lisbon looks likely to be the target for local Portuguese firms.
Mullerat’s founding partner Ramon Mullerat was unavailable for comment.
