Three law firms win Queen's Award for enterprise

Herbert Smith, Linklaters and Richards Butler have all won a Queen's Award for enterprise. They were among 131 companies that received the award yesterday (21 April), the Queen's birthday.
Linklaters senior partner Anthony Cann said the award was an endorsement of the firm's international strategy and reflected its reputation for advising on complex cross-border transactions. Linklaters has recently come top in MergerMarket and Thomson Financial's tables for deal value for European mergers and acquisitions.
Richards Butler said it won the award because over 60 per cent of its revenue comes from overseas clients, which include BAE Systems, BBC Worldwide, EMI Records, Lotus and Anglia Water. Richard Butler's largest overseas client base is in the US, which makes up 16 per cent of its international revenue.
Herbert Smith was unavailable for comment at the time of writing.
The firms will receive their awards today (22 April).
