Seven major brewers – Bass, Whitbread, Scottish and Newcastle, HP Bulmer, Taun-ton Cider, Carlsberg Tetley and Guinness – are seeking an injunction restraining Beer Barrels and Minerals (Wales), of Bridgend, South Wales, from melting down or disposing of aluminium kegs which they claim belong to them. They claim Beer Barrels and Minerals has come into possession of around 7,000 of their kegs, worth around £385,000 altogether, and allege the company is currently melting them down.
