FRESHFIELDS has been picked to act as legal consultant to environmental travel group Green Globe.
The City firm will provide information on the changing legislative scene to members of Green Globe – the environmental awareness wing of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
Head of Freshfields environmental group Paul Bowden sees the selection as “a tremendous marketing opportunity”.
“We are happy to provide the service on a pro bono basis because it's a very good way of accessing a huge market which we think we are uniquely well-placed to serve.”
The Green Globe programme is supported by scores of travel and tourism companies as well as 14 industry organisations.
Geoffrey Lipman, WTTC president, says: “We think it's a big plus for the programme to have taken onboard Freshfields.”
He said the firm would provide regular legal bulletins. “Companies are not tracking all the legislation because it is not always directly related to travel,” he says.
