A senior Pinsent Masons banking and finance partner has been charged with murdering his wife.

Chris Lumsden was remanded in custody by Trafford Magistrates’ Court yesterday. He was arrested last week after his wife Alison Lumsden was found dead with stab wounds.

A spokesperson for Pinsents expressed concern for Lumsden’s family but declined to comment further.

Lumsden, who joined Pinsents in 2002, helped the firm to launch its Manchester office. His clients include NM Rothschild & Sons and the Bank of Scotland.
