DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary has announced its latest round of partner promotions, with 23 lawyers being made up across the firm’s UK, European and Asian network.

The new appointments bring to 413 the number of partners in the UK, Europe and Asia.

As a distinct partnership, promotions on the US side of the business will be made separately.

The promotions were evenly split across the firm’s practice areas, with four new partners being made up into banking, four into corporate, three into projects and commercial, three into litigation, two into employment and five into the firm’s real estate practice. The regulatory and technology practices were also represented.

Nine of the 23 new partners hail from the firm’s 120-partner London office while Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow also produced new partners.

The Vienna office saw two of its associates made up while a single Hong Kong lawyer was promoted to the partnership.

The Sheffield office, from which managing partner Nigel Knowles hails, has no new partners this year.

Only around one third of DLA’s partners share in the firm’s tightly-held equity. The remainder are fixed-share, or salaried partners.
